Defeating anti-social behaviour through education

No Respect: Cause and Effect is a high school education project that draws on the views, experiences and creativity of young people to tackle anti-social behaviour.

The project began when 200 young workshop participants aged 11-15 were invited to offer their ideas about the kind of teaching tools that would have an impact on others their age. They came up with the character of Marcus, a troubled youth whose story is used as the basis of a portfolio of tools including a CD-ROM, DVD, website and related lesson plans.

The resources, which can be used in both citizenship and English lessons, encourage students to debate Marcus’ decisions and come up with creative ways of exploring the issues.
